Moved to The Village at Duxbury: August, 2015
Moved From: Duxbury, Massachusetts
Elaine Guilfoyle moved from Long Island to Duxbury about 20 years ago to be closer to her grandchildren when they were young. After two decades in a town she now calls home, Elaine didn’t want her decision to downsize to mean uprooting herself again. “I wasn’t ready to start my whole life over,” she says.
The Village at Duxbury was the ideal solution. “Everything is here — my family, my church, my work, my doctor. It wouldn’t make sense to leave Duxbury. The Village is the nicest independent living community and it offers the best amenities.”
It hasn’t taken her any time at all to feel at home in her modern, one-bedroom Alden apartment at The Village at Duxbury. It’s much roomier than I anticipated. I could have brought more,” she says, noting features such as the ample closet space, large refrigerator, and plenty of counter space. Elaine, who enjoys cooking and gardening, adds, “I look forward to entertaining here, and to gardening in one of the raised garden beds in the spring.”
For Elaine, moving to The Village at Duxbury was the right choice. “I don’t miss my house. This is my home,” she says.
